Samsung’s Android Go device could launch in the US as the Galaxy J2 Pure & J2 Dash

Galaxy J2 Pure & J2 Dash

Samsung debuted its first Android Go smartphone, the Galaxy J2 Core. It’s only available in limited markets at the moment but a few bits of information have suggested that it’s heading to the US. And, going by a couple of new trademarks, it may have a different name.
Just last week, Samsung filed two trademark applications in the US for the “Galaxy J2 Dash” and “Galaxy J2 Pure” names. Presumably, these will be used to distinguish different carrier versions of the Galaxy J2 Core, even if the devices are identical. However, as Samsung has not used the Dash or Pure branding before, Cricket Network will offer Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure while most probably AT&T will launch Samsung Galaxy J2 Dash.

Samsung still hasn’t confirmed a US release for the J2 Core so, naturally, the release date remains up in the air. But, with the holiday season just around the corner, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the company release the device towards the beginning of December. After all, it could prove popular with people looking for a budget device – a retail price of around $90 is to be expected.
